Sony Bravia A80J & X80J Android TV RMF-TX520P Voice Replacement Remote by Woniry

This Woniry replacement remote works with Sony Bravia Android TVs that originally came with the RMF-TX520P voice remote. It covers models from around 2020 onwards, including the A80J, X80J, X85J, X90J, and X95J series.

What you get: the remote body, no batteries. You need two AAA cells (buy them separately or use what you have at home).

How to pair this remote with your Sony Bravia TV:

1. Switch on the TV using the original remote or the power button on the set, and stay on the home screen.

2. Insert two AAA batteries into the new remote (not included).

3. Hold the Home + Back buttons together for about 5 seconds until the LED on the remote starts blinking.

4. The TV will show 'Pair new remote' or detect the remote within 30 to 60 seconds.

5. Once the LED stops blinking and stays solid, the remote is paired. Test the volume button.

First-time tip: keep the remote within 30 cm of the TV during pairing. After pairing, it works from across the room.

This is a Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) remote, not an IR remote, so it must be paired with the TV before it works. Standard IR remotes from other brands will not pair and will not function as a substitute.

Note: if your TV is currently paired to a different remote, the new remote may need the TV to be in pairing mode (TV settings, Remotes and Accessories, Add new remote). Some Android TVs only allow one paired voice remote at a time, so you may need to unpair the old one first if you are adding this as a second remote.

The mic button activates Google Assistant. The dedicated Netflix and Google Play buttons launch those apps directly. All navigation, volume, and power controls work as expected once paired.

Q: Do I need to pair this remote every time I turn on the TV?

A: No. Once paired, it remembers the TV. You only pair once unless you factory reset the TV or unpair the remote manually.

Q: Will this work with older Sony Bravia models from 2016 or 2017?

A: Unlikely. This remote is for 2020+ Android TVs that used the RMF-TX520P. Older Bravia models used different remote codes (RMF-TX300, RMF-TX200) and may not support Bluetooth pairing at all.

Q: Can I use this remote with two Sony TVs in the same room?

A: You can pair it to one TV at a time. To switch, you would need to unpair from the first TV and pair to the second. It does not control both simultaneously.

Q: What if the pairing LED does not blink when I press Home + Back?

A: Check the battery polarity. If correct, try replacing the batteries. A weak cell can prevent pairing mode from activating.

Q: Does the voice search work in Hindi?

A: Yes, if your TV's Google Assistant language is set to Hindi in the TV settings. The remote sends the audio to the TV, which processes it.
