This is a Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) remote, not an IR remote, so it must be paired with the TV before it works. The pointer (motion cursor) and voice search button only function after pairing.

What is in the box: remote body, user manual. Batteries (two AAA) not included.

How to pair this remote with your LG TV:

1. Switch on the TV using the original remote or the power button on the set, and stay on the home screen.
2. Insert two AAA batteries into the new remote.
3. Hold the Wheel (scroll button) + Back buttons together for about 5 seconds until the LED on the remote starts blinking.
4. The TV will show 'Pair new remote' or detect the remote within 30 to 60 seconds.
5. Once the LED stops blinking and stays solid, the remote is paired. Test the volume button.

First-time tip: keep the remote within 30 cm of the TV during pairing. After pairing, it works from across the room.

If your TV is currently paired to a different Magic Remote, the new remote may need the TV to be in pairing mode (TV settings, Remotes and Accessories, Add new remote). Some LG smart TVs only allow one paired voice remote at a time.

Q: Will this work with my 2022 LG C2 OLED?
A: The MR23GA is made for 2023-2024 models. For 2022 LG OLEDs (C2, G2), look for the MR22GA or MR21GA instead.

Q: Does the pointer (cursor) work right away?
A: No. The pointer and voice button activate only after you complete Bluetooth pairing with the TV.

Q: Can I use two Magic Remotes with one TV?
A: Most LG TVs pair with one Magic Remote at a time. If you pair a second one, the first usually disconnects.

Q: What if the remote does not pair?
A: Remove the batteries, wait 10 seconds, reinsert them, and try the pairing combo again. Make sure the TV is on the home screen, not in an app.
