This remote replaces the original for Hitachi non-inverter split AC model RSM318HDDO.
Compatible Models:
RSM318HDDO (non-inverter split AC)
What is in the box:
One remote control (batteries not included). You will need two AAA cells.
How to use:
Pop in two AAA batteries (not included). Point at the AC indoor unit sensor and press a button. That is the whole setup.
Design notes:
This is a standard infrared remote with no backlight. All the usual functions work: power, mode (cool, heat, fan, dry, auto), temperature up and down, fan speed, swing, timer, sleep. The button layout matches the original Hitachi non-inverter remote (model code 220A in some markets).
Will it work with inverter models?
No. This remote is for non-inverter Hitachi ACs only. Inverter models use a different signal set and a different remote code. If your AC is an inverter type (look for 'Inverter' or 'i-' on the model sticker), you need the inverter version of the remote.
First-time tip:
If the AC does not respond, check the batteries are fresh and properly seated. The sensor is on the right side of the indoor unit, usually near the display panel. Clean the sensor window with a dry cloth if dust has built up.
FAQ
Q: Does this remote have a backlight?
A: No. The buttons are not backlit.
Q: Will this work with my Hitachi inverter AC?
A: No. This is only for non-inverter models. Inverter ACs need the inverter remote.
Q: What is the range?
A: About 8 to 10 metres in a clear line of sight. Works through mosquito nets and thin curtains, though the range drops a bit.
Q: How long do the batteries last?
A: About 8 to 10 months with daily use (turning the AC on and off twice a day, adjusting temp once or twice). Actual life depends on how often you press buttons.
Q: Is this an original Hitachi remote?
A: No. This is a Woniry replacement remote. It sends the same infrared codes as the original, so the AC cannot tell the difference.
